Bringing a new board back to life!

I was asked by a friend of mine to take an old broken surfboard and recycle it into a beginner friendly shape for his son. Here are some pictures from the build with more to follow.

This was a previously fixed ding that went about 3/8" into the foam:

I used a router to clean up the ding and remove old logos from the stripped blank.

The template was designed to fit in the space available and to avoid those pesky fin boxes:

The foam shaped surprisingly well and yielded a nice beginner friendly mid-length:
